We have just finalised our 2022 Salary Guide within the Commercial Accounting space. We have summarised each area we have recruited in this past year, and the document below shares all our findings.
Figures are on an average basis, and may not reflect your actual salary, we would love to hear your thoughts about how you are currently remunerated.

Payroll
Payroll has definitely been the most active of the positions I work with this year! The market has been constantly moving and evolving. I would say that there has been a slight increase in Salary, especially at the higher end of the Payroll scale (Management). I have seen a
gradual increase in salary at the lower end also.
Accounts Payable
There has been little movement in terms of salary for Accounts Payable positions, the market hasn’t been as lively as that of Payroll. If anything there has been a slight rise in Salary for those with tenure, otherwise there isn’t too much change.
Accounts Receivable The accounts receivable space is similar to that of Accounts Payable, perhaps slight increase in salary alongside Accounts Payable.
Assistant Accountants
In the assistant accountant space, salary has been largely dependant on industry, roles have been advertised as low as $65,000, and as high as $85,000… throughout my experience in recruitment, the Assistant Accountant salary is on a steady rise yet looks like it may hit the ceiling at the $80,000 - $85,000 mark in most cases.
Financial Accountants
The salary range doesn’t seem to have changed too much over the past year, the range I am seeing throughout is anywhere from $90,000 at the low end and as high as $130,000 with bonuses and incentives for some roles in particular industries. The standard; However seems to be between $110,000 - $120,000
